The Westfalenhaus Hotel in Asunción is celebrating its 20th anniversary
It is a good occasion for entering our memory lane…

You will arrive as a guest and leave as a friend! This is the Friedhelm Angersbach and family’s concept in order to guarantee satisfaction for their guests that come from all over the world. Amongst them we find tourists, diplomats, company executives and personnel representing international conglomerates that appreciate the security offered by the Westfalenhaus Hotel.

Friedhelm Angersbach and his wife arrived in Paraguay just over 25 years ago. In 1987 they opened the Westflanhaus Hotel that is well known for its German hospitality and which has received numerous international awards over the years. For us though, the most important awards are those given by our guests, some of which can be found in our guest book.

During these 20 years, that can be split into four stages of construction, comprise the building of what is today’s Westfalenhaus Hotel. Memoirs of the owner: “The start was very hard, we started with barely 8 rooms. We cooked, cleaned and were always at the service of our guests.” Today the Westfalenhaus Hotel, with its quiet, central, strategic location situated in the Trinidad suburb comprises 50 rooms.

       
The last addition to the hotel was made 5 years ago.
The occasion, the birth of our Piroschka Restaurant.
       

Located but a few minutes by car from the airport and the city centre.
Modern elegance and discreet comfort characterize the hotel’s style. The rooms have been decorated with innumerable details. They have modern bathrooms, beds with orthopaedic mattresses, air conditioning, safety box, roof ventilator, cable television, mini-bar, telephone and Internet connection. For guests wishing larger space we can offer one and two- room apartments all fully equipped that includes: kitchenette, cooking utensils, plates, cutlery, microwave oven and coffee-maker. The ideal place for extended stays without having to dispense with the hotel services.

Si desea realizar alguna actividad deportiva o de recreo, le invitamos a tomar un baño en nuestra piscina, hacer una sesión de sauna o hacer ejercicios en nuestro gimnasio. En el área de juego encontrará fútbol de mesa, ping pong y una mesa de billar. Para poder comunicarse con el resto del mundo, tendrá a su disposición Internet (5 unidades PC), impresora y servicio de fax. Si usted trae su notebook tendrá Wireless LAN, aparte de una conexión en su habitación. Disponemos de salas de conferencias de distintos tamaños, equipados con los dispositivos más modernos, para todo tipo de eventos, tales como desayunos de trabajo, seminarios, conferencias o fiestas.

If you care to partake of a sporting activity or simply relax. We invite you to take a swim in our pool, take a sauna session or do some exercises in our gym. In the game area you will find a table football, a ping-pong table and a billiard table. In order to communicate with the rest of the world you will have at your disposal 5 PC units for Internet connection, printer and fax connection. If you bring your notebook you’ll have Wireless LAN as well as a connection for its use in your room. We have suitable conference rooms of various sizes. They are all equipped with the most modern equipment and usable for all type of events. i.e.: working breakfasts, seminars, conferences and parties.

In our Gourmet restaurant, decorated in a rustic style, there awaits the visitor a large menu from which to make their choice. They’ll find a great variety of international and Russian specialities not to be found in any other Paraguayan restaurant. There are dishes for all tastes. Our chef will personally attend to any special order that may even include dietary or diabetic dishes, typical Paraguayan ones or perhaps just a simple juicy grilled steak of not less than 300 grams. “Our juicy steaks are famous” is the proud comment of Friedhelm Angersbach. Not only do our hotel guests eat in our restaurant but also an ever-growing number of Asunción dwellers. Many emigrant Germans also visit the Piroschka Restaurant to simply enjoy its congenial atmosphere. You can park you car, be it owned or rented, in one of our garages or in the hotel’s guarded parking area. Laundry service, secretarial service, car rental, cultural or adventure tours, reflex-therapy, chiropractic and water-pressure complete our offer of additional services. Just a few minutes away can be found tennis, golf and riding clubs, not to mention modern shopping centres and international restaurants.
